5-Reasons-to-Tee-Off-With-These-Brazilian-Golf-Tours

The 2016 Olympics in Brazil had a lot of headlines, from the sublime to the ridiculous. For every golfer, however, the main story was golf being reinstated in the Olympics for the first time in over 100 years! This shed light on golf in Brazil and highlighted the beauty of Rio de Janeiro. But this is only the tip of the iceberg for what makes golfing in Brazil truly great. Here are the five reasons why you should tee it up in Brazil for your next golf journey.

#1. Brazil Has the Best Golf Courses in South America

Brazil is not as famous as other countries for its golf, however, these three courses will give any place a run for its money.

The Olympic Course – Rio de Janeiro

The Olympic course was designed specifically for the Olympics in 2016. So, they put some serious thought and money into this design! They hired the Gil Hanse Golf Design company to create this challenging, links-style course. It plays as a par 71 and extends out to 7,350 yards for the biggest hitter. It also features water views on many of the holes. The best part may be that since Rio de Janeiro is not a city of golfers, it is generally wide open and allows for a great pace of play. This course is an absolute can’t miss!

Terravista – Trancoso

Terravista is probably the most aesthetically beautiful course in Brazil due to its location next to the ocean. The front nine are challenging, with most of the holes surrounded by trees and well-placed hazards. The back nine showcases the water views, with each hole allowing for extended views of the Atlantic Ocean. This course is so beautiful that it will have you wanting to play it again the next day.

Sao Paulo Golf Club – Sao Paulo

Built in 1932, the Sao Paulo Golf Club was not only the first golf course in Sao Paulo but the first golf course in all of Brazil. It has been home to a number of important events. Events including the European Tour in 2000 where Padraig Harrington was champion, along with three Web.com events in 2013, 14 & 15 respectively. It’s a classic course that continued to maintain its excellence as the city grew around it. This course is one of the best that Brazil has to offer. One tour we offer that features this course can be viewed through our Argentina & Brazil Golf Tour.

#2. You Can Sightsee While On a Brazil Golf Tour

Iguassu Falls Brazil

One of the great features of golfing in Brazil is that most of the top courses are not only beautiful but also located in some of the country’s most desirable locations. Embarking on a golf tour with us gives you the chance to experience many different sides of Brazil, from the sprawling city life in Sao Paulo to the wonderful beaches in Rio de Janeiro and Trancoso. One of the underrated highlights that should be on everyone’s ideal Brazil trip is visiting the Iguassu Falls. The sheer force of the waterfalls is awe-inspiring and will leave you utterly breathless! These four locations make for a wonderful two-week trip where you can conquer Brazil’s best golf courses while also getting the chance to visit some of its best highlights.

#3. Brazil Has a Great Climate for Golf

For those in North America looking to escape the winter to a better climate, look no further than Brazil! A large portion of the country has either tropical or subtropical climate and consistently warm temperatures year-round. With those tropical climates come summer showers, so the ideal weather in Brazil for playing golf would be the shoulder months of April/May or September/October. That said, you can finish off a round with a caipirinha all year in Rio de Janeiro – who can beat that?

#4. Combine a Brazil Golf Tour with Brazilian Beaches

Ipanema Brazil

Rio de Janeiro has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The most famous ones are Copacabana & Ipanema, which are where most of our travelers stay. The ocean views from the hotels are stunning and are a welcome sight when you wake up for your tee-time.

The beaches also offer amazing people-watching experiences, as the beach is the Carioca’s favorite place to be. The locals do everything from play soccer volleyball (a truly amazing sport to watch), exercise, go swimming, socialize and sip caipirinhas here!

However, Rio is not the only place with impressive beaches that have beautiful golf courses nearby. Trancoso, located on the east coast of Brazil, features some very relaxing beaches. These calm beaches are a great way to unwind and are a great compliment to the energetic beach experience in Rio. Combined with the luxurious beach resorts that Brazil has to offer, this would be the perfect holiday!

#5. Brazil Visa is No Longer Required

Great news for golfers from the US, Australia, Canada & Japan! The Brazil visa will not be required for tourists from these countries starting June 17, 2019. Most other countries already had a reciprocity agreement with Brazil, but this is just one less thing for citizens of the above countries to take care of when planning a trip to Brazil.
