“Salta la Linda” (Salta the Beautiful) is both a city and province in the Northwestern region of Argentina. Located along the Tropic of Capricorn, the town enjoys a subtropical highland climate. This means warm, dry weather and a lot of blue sky. With over half a million inhabitants, Salta enjoys its position as the largest city in this part of the country. The town is placed at the head of the Lerma Valley in the eastern foothills of the Andes mountain range, at an altitude of 1,150 meters (3,780 feet) above sea level.

The Hotel Casa Real (Royal House) is centrally located, allowing for easy access to Salta’s art and history museums, colonial architecture, churches and cathedral. There are also several popular restaurants that feature local wines and many varieties of the famous empanada. Salta has the best preserved colonial architecture in the country, making for great walking tours from the hotel. This is also where guests catch the “Train to the Clouds” as well as the cable car to the top of San Bernardo Hill for breathtaking views of the city.

Casa Real has 83 rooms (we recommend booking one of the 12 Superior suites) and is located just six blocks from the main square, Plaza 9 de Julio. It’s also a quick 20 minute trip to the airport. The best way to get to know the hotel is from the people itself:

“Perseverance, honesty, professionalism and a positive attitude help achieve goals sometimes thought unimaginable. Anything is possible if you put enough heart and soul in to achieve it! Your welfare and comfort are our priority. We welcome you with a smile. We are here to meet your needs. During your stay discover the quality of our service, enjoy the delicious full breakfast and the fabulous Spa Club. Casa Real – choose us and find your second home.”

In addition to a complimentary breakfast, the hotel also offers free wi-fi internet access. Los Cebiles restaurant and bar is located in the hotel and there is a patio that is perfect for sipping a beer or glass of wine in the evening. The hotel also offers a pool, gym, massage and exercise classes in addition to the Spa Club.
