She has visited extensively Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia and currently lives and works in Bogota. Izabela still has several destinations remaining on her list including seeing Machu Picchu emerge from the clouds and listening for the call of a toucan during an Amazon cruise. You can read her personal travel blog, Momentos Captados, send her an email, and check out her blog posts for SouthAmerica.travel too.

jason-travel-consultantJason Mayo, Travel Consultant

Jason is an American from Connecticut currently living and working in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied at Colgate University and received a degree in Philosophy. After college, he realized that he had spent most of his life in an environment where people had very similar experiences and ideology. He had traveled with his family to Europe and Canada, and to Jamaica with his friends in college, but he knew that he understood very little about the world and other cultures. He traveled to Buenos Aires without speaking a word of Spanish and found the beginning of an incredible journey. Traveling throughout South America has forever changed his life for the better. His favorite places in South America up to this point have been the Iguazu Falls and Buenos Aires. He looks forward to continuing on his journey throughout South America and helping anyone who has a similar dream. You can email Jason in our Buenos Aires sales office.

Tye-travel-consultantTye Rogerson, Travel Consultant

Tye grew up in Santa Barbara, but has lived in Seattle long enough to consider the northwest home. He earned his degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Washington. An early trip to Peru piqued his curiosity, and a spate of globe-trotting soon followed, with a ski trip to Italy and “voluntouring” in Ecuador during his college years. Since then, Tye has worked in England, Wales and Australia, filmed a documentary in Greece and hitchhiked around Iceland. Returning to South America, he traveled over-land through every country in the continent, from Chile to French Guiana while writing a long-form travel blog about each place. His top three destinations are Rio during Carnival, going anywhere in Bolivia, and exploring Tayrona National Park on Colombia’s Caribbean coastline. He recently returned from a trip around the Indian Ocean, writing about Sri Lanka, the Seychelles, Madagascar, and other island nations. Tye looks forward to speaking with you about making your own trip to South America a reality. You can email Tye and read his blog posts, which feature some of his favorite locations.

tom-travel-consultantTom Maker, Travel Consultant

Tom was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He has always wanted to travel and experience new places, especially those that make his mother a little nervous. He studied international communications & anthropology at the university, taking time off to travel throughout. He has traveled around Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, the US, Canada, and South America. Tom was so infatuated with the beautiful chaos that is South America, that he came for a holiday and decided that he wasn’t ready to leave – with so much more exploring to do and things to learn. He currently lives in beautiful Buenos Aires. His favorite thing about traveling is the way that different places make you feel; the excitement and confusion of visiting somewhere new, and the warm, homely, fuzzy feeling you get when you are somewhere that you know. Tom’s other passions include music, food (mostly eating) and the outdoors. His highlights of South America (so far) include the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, the Caribbean Coast in Colombia, Central Argentina, and the Uruguayan Coast.  You can email Tom directly in our Buenos Aires office or read some of his blog posts.

Jon Hillstead, Travel Consultant

Jon was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the Pacific Northwest. His interest in travel and South America came to life while he was studying abroad during college. Living and working in the Ecuadorian Amazon, he became intrigued with the indigenous Kichwa culture and local way of life. This sparked his interest to continue to explore other parts of South America. He traveled from the Amazon to the Andes and from the coast of the Galapagos and into Peru. Traveling all by land from Mancora in Northern Peru to Lake Titicaca in southern Peru, gave him an understanding of the geography and culture of the country. Some of Jon’s highlights include snorkeling with manta rays in the Galapagos, trekking at 13,000 ft in the Cordillera Blanca, and watching the sun rise over Machu Picchu. With his love for adventure, the outdoors and his passion for travel, Jon hopes to inspire others with his experiences to make South America their next travel destination.  Send Jon and email or read some of his blog posts.
