Let the Brazil Travel Information Begin!

Rio de Janeiro

Brazil is one of the world’s most fascinating countries in the world. Home to 198 million people, Brazil is a melting pot of enthusiastic football fans, expert soybean farmers, talented dancers and musicians, and friendly bartenders pouring perfect caipirinhas. Step beyond the curvaceous coastline of Rio de Janeiro, and find a treasure trove of isolated beaches and landscapes dotted with waterfalls and 18th-century churches. Then, explore the lush wetlands loaded with egrets and jabirus. Brazil truly offers it all.

Best Time to Visit Brazil

No Brazil Travel Information would be complete without showcasing the Best Time of the Year to Visit Brazil. To determine the best times to visit Brazil, you must first select a region that interests you. The region you choose will help determine the best time to visit. For example, if Rio de Janeiro is calling your name, visit from December to March! December to March is Brazil’s summer season. Nothing is more inviting than soaking up the sun on Copacabana Beach during the summer.

If you’re interested in the Amazon Rainforest, visit during the months June to December. There is less rain at this time which means explorers can travel further into the jungle to spot flora and fauna.

If wildlife tours are your main focus, head to the Pantanal! The Pantanal experiences its “dry season” from May to September. The dry season is the best time to visit because animals and other species become easier to spot. In fact, it is easier to see wildlife in the Pantanal than the Amazon. Curious as to why? The Pantanal isn’t as dense!

How to Get to Brazil

Next up in our Brazil Travel Information, let’s discuss how to get to Brazil! Unless you plan to enter Brazil overland from a neighboring country, you will most certainly arrive by air. Airfares tend to fluctuate frequently and vary between airlines.

However, take note that the high season for buying airline tickets to Brazil is generally July and August, then again in December, and low during any other time. Typically airfare does not rise over Carnival (Feb-March), but it can get quite difficult to find an open spot! It’s always best to book your flights well in advance when planning a trip to Brazil.

How to Get a Brazil Visa

Now that we’ve covered how to get to Brazil, let’s explore what you will need to actually enter the country! Besides your passport, did you know you need a Brazil visa to enter Brazil? It’s true! Lucky for you, it is now easier than ever to obtain a Brazilian Travel Visa!

On January 25th, 2018, it was announced that tourists traveling to Brazil from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan are eligible for a new e-Visa. This electronic system allows travelers to apply for a Brazilian visa, without the hassle of long lines. The fee for the e-Visa is now only $40, plus a consular fee, and the entire process, from start to finish, takes up to 72 hours.

For more information about the e-Visa process, head to VFS Global or visit our Brazil Visa & Passport Information page.
