| Rest of World | Citizen of countries NOT mentioned on this list, it is vital that you check your specific visa requirements before traveling to Paraguay. We recommend visiting VisaHQ to stay up-to-date with all the latest visa & passport requirements. Visit VisaHQ.com | |||
Citizens of ALL countries: To enter Paraguay, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, if you are traveling to Paraguay in March, your passport must be valid through September of that year.
We strongly recommend making copies of your passport. Keep your original passport locked away in the safe of your hotel and carry a photocopy of your passport with you during your travels. You might also consider purchasing a passport holder to keep all your documents safe.
Good news for travelers: under a visa-waiver program currently in place (through August 2027), citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can enter Paraguay visa-free for tourism. The former reciprocity visa fees (which used to run roughly US$135–$160) no longer apply.
Citizens of the United Kingdom and most EU nations are also visa-free for tourism. In all of these cases you can stay for up to 90 days, extendable once for an additional 90 days from Paraguay’s Directorate General of Immigration (Dirección General de Migraciones) before your initial stay expires.
If you do not see your nationality here, please contact the nearest Paraguayan embassy to check current requirements. If a visa is required for your nationality, allow time to apply — consular processing typically takes a few business days, and longer for some nationalities.
