There are some excellent spas in South America and it is easy to include some time at one of these to unwind for a few days at the start or end of a longer tour of South America. Nannai spa by LOccitane is one great option on the north coast of Brazil, combine some massages and general pampering with time on a beautiful beach. Carmelo Resort and Spa in Uruguay is another great option. It could be added to the end of a tour of Argentina or included as part of a wider Uruguay trip. There are many other great spas throughout South America, talk to us for recommendations that fit with your other areas of interest.

Mashpi Lodge in the cloud forests of Ecuador is a fantastic combination of luxury and excellent eco-credentials, especially with its involvement of the local community. In Peru, Inkaterras Reserva Amazonica is a rainforest lodge near Puerto Maldonado which has been voted one of National Geographics top eco-lodges. In Brazil, Cristalino Lodge in the Amazon and Araras Lodge in the Pantanal are excellent options. There are many great eco-lodges throughout South America and these are just a few examples.

Absolutely. Explora is a group of luxurious lodges with locations in Chile, Peru, and Argentina. These are great for active travelers who want a very high standard of accommodation and guiding. There are lodges in the Torres del Paine, Easter Island, the Atacama Desert, Perus Sacred Valley and El Chalten in Argentina. In Brazil, some of the most luxurious lodges in the Amazon are Cristalino Lodge and Anavilhanas Lodge though luxury is relative to the surroundings and location in the middle of the rainforest. Ecuador has some lodges of an excellent standard in Mindo Cloudforest and the Amazon. The Galapagos Islands also have a couple of luxury lodges such as Galapagos Safari Camp.
