20+ Years Designing South America Tours

Iguazú Falls is one of South America’s most spectacular natural wonders, and a highlight of any Argentina tour or Brazil itinerary. Walk the elevated jungle trails on the Argentina side from Puerto Iguazú to the famous Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo), or enjoy sweeping panoramic views from the Brazil side near Foz do Iguaçu. Many travelers planning an Iguazú Falls vacation add the falls to a longer journey from Buenos Aires, combining it with Mendoza wine country, Patagonia, or other top destinations. Adventurous visitors can also take the Gran Aventura boat ride beneath the falls or explore nearby jungle trails and wildlife. Our Travel Experts design custom Iguazú Falls tours to match your pace, interests, and travel dates, whether visiting from Argentina, Brazil, or both sides.

Custom Iguazú Falls Tours (Argentina & Brazil Sides)

Our Iguazú Falls tours are fully customizable, offering access to both the Argentina and Brazil sides of the falls. Explore panoramic viewpoints, jungle walkways, and the powerful Devil’s Throat boardwalk, then add optional excursions such as helicopter flights or ecological boat rides. Whether you’re visiting from Buenos Aires, Rio, or as part of a multi-country journey, our experts tailor each Iguazú itinerary to your interests and travel style.

The Best Time to Visit Iguazú Falls

Iguazú Falls can be visited year-round from both the Argentina and Brazil sides, but conditions vary depending on rainfall, heat, and regional holidays. The summer months (December–March) are the warmest and most humid, with higher water volume over the falls—ideal for dramatic views, though expect occasional rain and large crowds during Christmas, New Year, and Carnival. From April to September, temperatures are more comfortable and rainfall is lighter, making it an excellent time for walking the boardwalks and jungle trails. Holy Week (Easter) is another peak travel period to keep in mind. Overall, Iguazú Falls offers stunning experiences in every season, and the best time to visit often depends on the timing of your broader Argentina or Brazil itinerary.

Iguazu Falls Travel FAQs

The Iguazu Falls are not an expensive destination to visit. There are two National Parks at the Iguazu Falls, one of the Brazilian side and one on the Argentine side. Both have entrance fees, and these amounts change from time to time but are modest amounts. Usually, getting to and from the falls involves a flight, often from Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires, so budget for this in addition to accommodation, meals and tour costs.

A guide is not compulsory and it is very safe to visit the Brazilian and Argentine sides of the falls. If you are staying at one of the hotels adjacent to the falls the Belmond Das Cataratas on the Brazilian side or the Melia on the Argentine side, you might be happy to explore on your own. If staying further from the falls, in the towns of Puerto Iguazu or Foz do Iguassu, a guided tour is worthwhile to get you to and from the falls as well as to make the most of your time and learn some interesting facts about the falls themselves and the impressive flora and fauna of the area.

Yes, it is possible. It is well worth visiting both the Argentina and Brazilian sides of the falls and this can be done in a full day, but it is rushed. We recommend spending 2 nights at the falls to give time to see both sides without rushing. This might sound like a long time to spend at a waterfall but there is plenty to see and do, the national parks are interesting and there are plenty of trails to follow through the lush forest and boat trips are possible too. You may be interested in visiting the Itaipu Dam and Iguazu Bird Park too.
