A grand white building with a large golden dome, columns at the entrance, and a national emblem above the doorway, framed by tall palm trees—a striking landmark often featured in Venezuela travel guides.

Passport & Visa Requirements

A tourist visa to Venezuela is not required for US citizens, Canadians, UK citizens, or Australians who stay in Venezuela for less than 90 days. For other nationalities, please check the requirements at https://www.visahq.com.
Important: Check the Current Travel Advisory
Before planning any travel to Venezuela, please review the latest official guidance. As of 2026, the U.S. Department of State maintains a Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory for Venezuela, citing crime, civil unrest, and the risk of arbitrary detention. There are also no direct flights between the United States and Venezuela (suspended since 2019), and U.S. consular support inside the country is very limited — emergency assistance for U.S. citizens is handled through the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia. Conditions and entry rules can change quickly. We strongly recommend reviewing the U.S. State Department travel advisory for Venezuela (or your own government’s equivalent) before making any plans.
Passport
Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months after the date you enter any country in South America. For instance, if you plan to travel to Venezuela in March, your passport must be valid through September of that year. Carry a photocopy of your passport during your travels.
Vaccination Recommendations
We highly recommend visiting the World Health Organization website for the most up-to-date country-specific vaccination requirements. Learn More
